From 30th September to 9th October I will be in Herefordshire working on a sculpture responding to the work of The Cart Shed, a charity which uses rural skills in woodlands as a salve for the pressures of life.
Working over 9 days, I’ll be attempting to create something which shows the positive action that come of these sessions for participants in the outdoors, building resilience and emotional wellbeing.
In 2015 I stayed in the same Gardener’s Cottage at Newport House where Out of Nature sculpture show was occuring throughout October, where the work Journal (right) emerged, responding to the sights and sounds of the surroundings.
Visitors to Herefordshire can see the developing new work as well as sculptures displayed in the landscapes of Newport House. But you can follow images and the thoughts of the artist via the blog, right now.
Occasional teaching sessions at West Dean College in the South Downs National Park are continuing; you can see forthcoming sculpture courses here.
